  3. DISNEY'S AMERICA

  5. A unique and historically detailed environment, DISNEY'S AMERICA is a
  6. celebration of the diversity of America, the plurality of this nation
  7. and the conflicts that have defined us as a people.
  8.  
  9. Within the Park's nine "territories," guests may find themselves
  10. piloting a World War II fighter in a virtual reality experience,
  11. participating in a harrowing Lewis and Clark river expedition through
  12. a Native American Indian village, witnessing an authentic Civil War
  13. re-enactment, or meeting the nation's 41 presidents through the magic
  14. of Disney's Audio-Animatronics technology.

  16. While offering rides and attractions for which Disney is famous,
  17. DISNEY'S AMERICA will also be a venue for people of all ages --
  18. especially American youth -- to debate the future of their nation and
  19. learn about the past by living its history.

  21. The approximately 100-acre park is scheduled to open in 1998 and will
  22. be sited on 3,000 acres of land in Virginia. The Walt Disney Company
  23. has options to purchase an ideal complement to visiting the
  24. museums, monuments and national treasures in Washington, D.C.

  26. OTHER CURRENT WDI PROJECTS

  28. DISNEYLAND EXPANSION:  Imagineers are working on the finishing
  29. touches of Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, a kinetic, chaotic
  30. attraction featuring Roger Rabbit and Benny the Cab opening at
  31. Mickey's Toontown in January 1994.

  33. The Disneyland Resort
  34.  
  35. The Disneyland Resort is a proposed new theme park and destination
  36. resort adjacent to and including Disneyland.  WESTCOT Center will
  37. celebrate the diverse cultures of the world, as well as the elements
  38. that truly connect us -- our humanity, our history, our planet
  39. and our universe.
  40.  
  41. Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Expansion
  42.  
  43. Imagineers are nearing completion of a new Hall of Presidents
  44. attraction.  Through the art of Audio-Animatronics, President Bill
  45. Clinton will become the first living chief executive to "speak" to
  46. park guests.
  47.  
  48. Imagineering has begun the process of transforming Tomorrowland to
  49. reflect the future as imagined by machine-age visionaries -- a
  50. galactic, science-fiction-inspired community inhabited by human
  51. beings, aliens and robots.
  52.  
  53. Alien Encounter, the chilling centerpiece of this fantastic
  54. metropolis, debuts in 1996 and will introduce guests to the marvels
  55. and terrifying consequences of interplanetary teleportation.

  57. EPCOT CENTER EXPANSION
  58.  
  59. Imagineers are working on new designs to update and add to such EPCOT
  60. Center pavilions as The Land, Journey into Imagination, Spaceship
  61. Earth, Universe of Energy and a major new re-development of
  62. CommuniCore.  They are also in the early stages of developme nt of a
  63. new thrill ride for World Showcase.

  65. Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park Expansion:  The size of the enormously
  66. successful Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park will grow considerably in
  67. 1994 with the unveiling of Sunset Boulevard, including restaurants,
  68. shops and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, an attraction within the
  69. haunted halls of a venerable Hollywood hotel.

  71. WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT EXPANSION
  72.  
  73. Imagineers have begun design work on a third water park, Blizzard
  74. Beach.  Scheduled to open mid-decade, Blizzard Beach is themed to an
  75. American ski resort experiencing a "meltdown" of gushing
  76. proportions.

  78. Euro DisneyLAND Expansion:  In 1994, Imagineers will complete Les
  79. Mystres du Nautilusin Discoveryland, a self-guided walking tour of
  80. the Nautilus submarine from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea;" Casey Jr.
  81. Le Petit Train du Cirque in Fantasyland, a tenacious little circus
  82. train traveling through charming miniature scenes; and another
  83. Fantasyland attraction inspired by the Disneyland Storybook Land
  84. Canal Boats.

  86. By mid-decade, Imagineering will also complete a major attraction,
  87. Discovery Mountain, inspired by Jules Verne's From the Earth to the
  88. Moon.  A huge cannon will catapult guests to the far reaches of
  89. space, where they'll rocket through high-speed curves and
  90. gravity-defying loops inside Discovery Mountain.
